| Organization of a summer activity for High School students in the framework of “Ciência Viva” (activity co-ordinated by the Ministry for Science, Technology and Higher Education): five students attended the activity entitled “Plasma Physics and Nuclear Fusion” during one week. The course started with lectures on nuclear fusion and was focused mainly on practical activities. Students followed experimental activities performed on ISTTOK, participated in the installation of some diagnostics, and assembled an educative “hands-on” plasma experiment based on a arc discharge; the plasma behaviour was observed for different parameters (working gas, pressure and electron voltage). |
